Hey you Caulfields. Nothing posted in nearly a month? What? You busy with your lives, new babies, etc?
I'm lovin our new place. Judy having a harder time.
We're very proud of Andy finishing law school. It's been a lot of hard work. He graduates 34 years after I did from UCD Law School. Pretty cool.
Hope you can make it to his grad party here. It'll be a good chance to see the new place. Hope it doesn't rain, because without the back yard, it's gonna be crowded. We have several extra beds if you want to stay. Also a couple of reasonable motels here in Cameron Park.
POST STUFF!

welcome Ciaran.Sorry, can't do the thingy over the "a" My family went to Ireland about 15 years ago. It's beautiful. Where is Dundalk?. Tell us about yourself.

Hi, Ciaran. That's a great name. I've never heard it before. We'd love to hear about you and your family. We Caulfields are mostly located in the northern California area (I'm in Nevada, and some are in southern CA). There are 4 Caulfield brothers that head up this clan. Lots of wives, kids, and some grandkids around! How about you?

I live in Dundalk. Its on the north east coast. 50miles south of Belfast and 50miles north of Dublin. My family
are originaly from Belfast city but my grandparents moved down south during the troubles in nothern Ireland. Are your family originally from Ireland?

Yay. Posts! If you want to post news about yourself or your relatives to the site anytime, send me an email and I'll send you a blogger invite. You can be Caulfield.net's first European correspondent. I'm brian@caulfield.net.

welcome, ciaran! our friends have a 4 year old named ciaran!

Yes, this particular branch of Caulfields is from Ireland originally, and ended up in California by way of Utah! (Opened up a liquor store in Utah no less - thought they had the market cornered, but obviously it didn't work out.) They quickly ventured on to Redding, CA and ultimately Santa Rosa, CA, where they operated a prosperous liquor store for many years. The next generation of Caulfields went into more mundane occupations - architecture, law, banking and engineering. Anyway, no idea where exactly their people originated from in Ireland. Suspect the west but not sure of the county/town. It would make for a nice research project - anyone want to pursue this? Track down the legend behind Black Jack Caulfield and his shell-shocked brother, Great-Uncle Hyland Caulfield??

PS - yes, we've heard a bit about Caulfield, Australia...isn't there a nice racetrack there? Amazing how far Caulfields have spread across the globe...

My name is Brian Caulfield. I bought this domain name many years ago, so I could grab it before some squatter began charging me to get mail at brian[at]caulfield.net. Now that I've got the email address I wanted, I've got this Web site too. I've always figured I'd try to make it a resource. A "blog" seems to be the right way to do that.
