While you guys are getting the snow that we want we are having a virtual snow drought. One of the pictures that you see is the meadow below our deck as taken today (03/12/06). It should be covered with snow, but no0000, you guys are hogging it all and taking it out of the air before it can get to where it rightly belongs, here in Vermont.

One upside, yesterday we had a fantastic snowshoe treck (no wise cracks, you actually did need snowshoes there because it is higher and the snow remains) to the top of Camels Hump with some friends (other picture) in Camel's Hump State Park about 40 miles north of here. It was an incredibly clear day and we could see the White mountains in New Hampshire on one side and Lake Champlain and the Adarondacks in NY on the other. The view from the top made the 8 mile round trip worth it. Did I mention that our legs are sore today.

Anyway, don't bother sending us our snow now, you guys have already used it and we are starting to get ready for sping. We had the first part of honest to goodness mud season yesterday on the way home from the hike, and grounded the car out twice in the ruts on the way up Braintree hill.

Comments:
Neat pic on top of the mountain.
Is a "shoeshoe" the same as a "showshoe?" And how are they different than a "snowshoe?"
Sorry Tim. I've spent the day getting ready for a trial that starts tomorrow and couldn't help myself.
I expect to see pics of you guys buried in the snow again this year.
Rich

Looks great! I wish we were energetic enough to get out for hikes more often. If I were you, I wouldn't even give my dad the satisfaction of a response. He always types his messages so perfectly. . .

Ah yes, sunny Vermont ;-) Thanks for the pics, I feel warmer looking at them.

Still beautiful and that hike looks amazing!

I don't know what Rich is talking about, I don't see any such typo's. What, are your eyes going as you approach 60 (sheesh, 60 is really getting old).

How'd you do that?

Now that I've got the email address I wanted, I've got this Web site too. I've always figured I'd try to make it a resource. A "blog" seems to be the right way to do that.
