Um, surgery, what surgery????? Does this have to do with the abdominal mass found a year or two ago? I'm glad everything's ok, just concerned since I didn't know what's going on. Send her our love. kate, jason, and mads

no, we opted to wait on the abdominal surgery, although it was recommended. we just couldn't find sufficient evidence that that is actually a problematic hernia. this surgery was an adenoidectomy. she has had troubled breathing, sleep apnea, and frankly, at least 2 of us have problematic sleep as a result, so we decided to go ahead with it. she is doing fabulously (much better than we were told to expect.) we think we are already seeing results. she seems to breathe a bit through her nose already now and she is not as interested in naps (bummer) despite (or hopefully because of) drugs.
 

Bless her heart! Poor Izzy! and poor Mommy and Daddy for having to go through all of this.
So glad to hear that everything is going well now.
I loved getting a chance to see her when I was at Tom and Annie's. It was an unexpected pleasure.
