VT Update: The siding is now all on, and the contractor is literally days from leaving for good. Just some finish work in the main floor bath and the year and a half remodel (while we lived there) will be done. The white boards will be painted in the spring (you cannot paint with water based paint when the temperature is below 40 degrees F, and it is well below that now, like 12 degrees as I write this, and heading down) to make it all one color.
The wood stove is working great so we are ready for a cozy winter.
Guess What Today Is?
Finnian (from Old Irish finn "white" or "fair combined with a diminutive suffix) is the name of a bunch of Irish Saints.
St. Finnian of Clonard is probaby the most widely known St. Finnian - he was one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland and called "The Teacher of Irish Saints" because a number of students at his school became very prominent ecclesiastics. He founded Clonard Abbey in modern-day County Meath.
St. Finnian of Clonard's feast day is the 12th of December.

okay, he is officially finnian luca. hope that saves us all some hassle along the way.
as for his life...he sleeps, eats, pees, poops, and only occasionally cries. here he is....
We want more pics of Finn, and an update on his young life.
Great uncle Rich

She's ready for the cold weather! :)

Took us most of the week
but the tree's up
I see the news is out already, but we had a boy at 1:27 pm on Wednesday, December 5th.
He is 7lb, 13 oz, and 20 and 3/4 inches. (For comparison, Lala was 8lb 7oz and 20 inches.)
There was a large knot in his cord, so we are especially happy to have a healthy little guy. The pediatrician thinks he doesn't have a hernia, just muscles that need to strengthen and shape.
And his name is Finn. Officially, Luca Finnian Caulfield, but we are calling him Finn.

Happy Birthday Andy...
c'mon, your 30's aren't that bad

Happy Birthday Rosalie!
You're still a kid at heart
IT'S A BOY!!!
Nicola and Mike had a bouncing baby boy yesterday. 7 lbs 13 oz and twenty something inches long. He is temporarily called Hawkeye (their generic pre-birth moniker) until they think of a better name. Mom, dad and sister are all doing well. Hawkeye will have to have a hernia repaired sometime soon, but otherwise is in good shape.

Ain't my grand-daughters cute?
And their moms?

A couple of days can make a big difference.
