Letter from Australia
Well what do ya know, a website dedicated to the Caulfield name. As you may have guessed, I'm a Caulfield. I'm from County Wicklow in Ireland, but moved to Sydney, Australia 6 months ago. You probably know most of these facts about Caulfield but I thought I'd send them anyway.

Ireland:
Official Irish version of Caulfield is Cathmhaoil, pronounced cah-veel

Aonadh Mac Cathmhaoil was Archbishop of Armagh in 18th Century. He was also a highly regarded poet, a poem of his was published on the front page of 'The Irish Times' on Christmas Day 2000.

Australia:
Caulfield racetrack in Melbourne is Australia's oldest track. There is a town in Victoria called Caulfield, and a suburb of Melbourne by the same name.

England:
Patrick Caulfield, a fisherman from Galway joined the British Army before the start of 2nd World War. He became an RAF pilot and was highly decorated after the Battle of Britain.
